my thoughts on...rompers

At the request of one of my favorite readers, I decided to blog about what might be this spring/summer's most polarizing trend--ROMPERS!

I used to be very against them--who wants to revert back to toddlerhood? The cutest styles really are straight from our youthful closets with ditsy prints and skort details. But, maybe because I've been surrounded by them for the past few months, I'm starting to open up to the idea.

There is something fresh and new about the romper, however nostalgic the trend might be. It's a great alternative to a dress in the height of summer--and even better--you can ride a bike and be active in them, while still looking chic and pulled together.

For day, I like the looser, bohemian looking ones, like the two Chictopia users above.

I also have to admit that I really like the idea of the sleek, nighttime appropriate ones... but I don't recommend them. You basically have to completely undress to use the bathroom, and after a couple of cocktails, that sounds like a recipe for disaster!

I quizzed most of my friends on the romper trend, and the responses were still definitely mixed. My verdict? A DO. But spend and wear wisely--this is a short-lived trend that's really only suitable for the hottest of summer days...especially since so many of the styles are little more than tap shorts and cami sewn together at the waist.

Yay! Thanks for the blog on Rompers :) I have been thinking about getting one, more like the 2nd and 3rd pic on here but with at least a 3-4 inch inseam. I want it to work with flops for casual or heels for a night out. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be purchasing something that is already bleh in the fashion world, and you are my go to girl for such advice lol.

I've never heard of that noodle place you mentioned on my blog. But I'm up for anything.

I'm like you, I always used to be quite against rompers but I am now starting to like them, The fact that your actually wearing shorts and can run around and do anything yet look girly still is awesome :) I like the top look the best.
