blumarine: is all publicity good publicity?

I'm no advertising creative. I have no experience and know of no research to back up what I'm about to say. But I am a consumer. And I am a Harper's Bazaar reader who actually looks at the hundreds of advertisements dwelling within its September issue. So what I have to say should, theoretically, be valid. BEHOLD: ads that stopped my ready-to-flip-thumb dead in its tracks.

Blumarine.

What. Are. You. Doing.

When (faux?)fur and leather started its comeback, I was hesitant because of this very reason.... Memories of tacky, fringed garments, over-the-top mixing, and snake prints (the worst!). These Blumarine ads are, actually, my worst fashion animal nightmare.

I guess there is something to be said about the fact that I looked at it for a long time and am now blogging about it. But done out of disgust... is that really what they were going for?

What do you think? Am I being too hard on Blumarine?

No, you are not being hard enough! haha! I had the same feelings. The clothes I thought were hideous and too over the top. I would never wear them out. Too much going on, too much head to toe prints. I feel like a rich Texas mom would only be found wearing this.

I think there is a certain type of person that would feel comfortable wearing this, but unfortunately, head-to-toe animal print isn't me. Re the weather, London is pretty tricky at the moment and although the days can be sunny, tights and a jacket are necessary once it gets a bit later, so I always try to be prepared.

I have mixed feelings. At first glance, I think photos are done well, with the exception of being redundant- I like how the models almost look like mannequins but there's so much motion in the accessories. That said, I basically hate every outfit, even if you just looked at the pieces individually. They look a little costumey for my taste.

no i dont think you're hard on them, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. for me, i think their shoes are okay individually, just too much details in the way they styled it perhaps! & thanks for your lovely comment! :)) would love to exchange follows or links if you'd like? lemme know!

I never liked Blumarine, I find it, how can I explain, with bad taste. Not just with this collection, with the one before too.
So thanks for say this :)
