weekend recap: farewell august, farewell NYC!

Hard to believe we've seen the last of August! This summer has flown by. I've been trying to take advantage of the last warm days by being outside as much as possible.

On Saturday, the boy and I sat out by Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River, reading up on our rapidly approaching trip...

then grabbed lunch at The Smile...

..followed by outdoor drinking at Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens. (I should've worn sunscreen--I was a little pink by evening!)

Sunday was spent cleaning, buying travel-sized toiletries, and lounging on the couch watching the Emmys.

I guess the good thing about the end of August is that I'm finally taking my summer trip! In just a few hours, I'm off to Barcelona. If you have any last minute tips, send them my way--QUICK!
