Hello! + what to wear to a wedding

I'm terrible at this, aren't I??? I have been so sidetracked by all kinds of real-world things, but I have really missed the blogosphere!

In the meantime, I'm coming off a totally wedding-filled weekend. One of our favorite couples got married on Friday after 9 years of dating and one of my best friends gets married in less than a month. I am starting to really feel like an adult.... I'm also having trouble keeping myself tear-free!

I have to say, choosing an outfit for a wedding is really difficult. How can you find something that is appropriate for 6+ hours of varied activities (church, drinks, partying), and doesn't make you look like a bridesmaid yourself (if you're not one)? It's all about shying away from solid satin-y looks and towards subtly unique details like colorblocking, anything-but-floral patterns, and a bit of shine. Easier said than done... And take it from me, consider the strap-situation carefully... pulling up your strapless dress all night might not make the best photos. This is a dress I kept coming back to, again and again as possibility. I love that it can be dressed up or down, and it's just special enough to be practical even after the event.

Do you have a go-to look for summer weddings?

That dress is gorgeous and would be pefect for a wedding. I was at a dear friends wedding this past weekend and went with a maxi dress. It was pink and billow-y I felt like a wood nymph mixed with a greek goddess - haha! But I felt like a million bucks all night :) Good luck finding that perfect dress dear! xo

ps. it's greta to have you back

Love the dress! I'd recommend finding some shoes to keep you going for 6+ hours of activities. Good luck!

You're so right, it is difficult to find an outfit that doesn't make you look like a bridesmaid when you're not. This is just perfect. There's nothing worse than dressing up too much and looking slightly uncomfortable in the day.

"What to wear on wedding?

Coming to weddings are like celebrating a festival. Whether it is your best friend's wedding or you are a bridesmaid, you wish to look the best. Girls grab the best wedding outfits for themselves during this time.
1. Go ethnic
Lehenga is one of the least difficult to drape dress amongst other wedding outfits. The lehenga saree gives you a complete Indian look to you. It’s a good to go for your Best friend's marriage or any other family wedding.
Wear your high-low kurta with palazzo. It's an Indo-Western dress which is different from any other Indian wedding outfits. You can try it in beautiful bright colors like lemon green, pink, white or any other bright color.
2. Christian wedding look
Many of the celebrity wedding dresses are western as they also tend to attend Christian weddings. White floral dress, be it short or long it gets along pretty well in Christian weddings. White or peach is the color for church weddings so if you attend it, go for peachish pink, or any shade of white.
3. Indo-Western look
Now, this outfit is the most comfortable outfit amongst all. Color coordination should be good in this as that's the only factor to keep in mind while choosing one.
4. Anarkali's
Take a full-length anarkali suit in one color and coordinate it with an embroidered jacket on. If the suit is of bold color, then pick your jacket in light colors like off white, yellow or any other bright color.
6. Summer wedding attires
A plunging deep V dress is good to go for a destination wedding in or around beaches. Next can be summery shift dress in pretty bright colors like pink, peach or white. A bright coral maxi dress which would be a basic attire for the wedding.
7. Beach wedding look
For beach weddings, you need to take care of few elements in your mind like sand, sun, wind and water. Wear a midi sundress with flat sandals and a wide sun hat. Also, avoid short skirts and dresses.

8. Casual wedding attires
There are variations in your wedding outfits like there are variations in wedding types. The versatile black jumpsuit will look perfect and also enhance your body shape. Another choice can be of modern striped casual frocks, will give you a cute bubbly look.
7. What not to wear
Shorts and skirts are big no to the weddings. Styling in flip flops can be a big fashion disaster so no to wear them as well. Distressed clothing is not allowed in the wardrobe of wedding outfits.
Above outfits can definitely change your wedding look, so try them on and give it your best shot."
