the LWD: spring '11 favorites
With Indian summer in full swing (70's and perfectly sunny in NYC this weekend) I can pretend for a little longer that the spring runway looks are relevant to me. The little white dress popped up all over the runways, but I found myself most drawn to the delicate, lacy, ultra-femme styles at Erdem.
And I love the way they injected this sultry, seductive red number--a stark contrast to the innocence of the prior looks.

Looks like I've fallen for one of the biggest trends from NYFW: sheer things that probably shouldn't be sheer. And that's all thanks to...
I'm not sure how to explain why I desperately want a see-through-trench-that-looks-like-a-cozy-sweater, but I do.
I've now proclaimed Lim the expert of drool-worthy-yet-neutral color palettes, a genius of fabric mixing and texture making, the lifeline for the polka dot trend, and perhaps the only man who has a chance of getting me into a (uber chic, perhaps even leather) apron (that I'll wear for my lovely boyfriend as he makes us a much more edible dinner than I ever could).

Oh, Fashion, always making me unhappy with the current season. Just as I'm starting to embrace the first days of fall, I find myself enamored with spring. One of my favorite New York Fashion Week spring shows so far?
I just love his way of refreshing the summer's one true love: stripes. The idea of making them in part transparent is, well,.... perfect. (Cynthia Rowley clearly shared the sentiment, too.)
And updating the lady-like looks of fall using super sheer blouses topped with big giant bows? Just the cherry on top.
I want to wear every single look in his collection right off the runway--to work or on a date, a party or a red carpet event (should I be so lucky!).

I'm sure you fashionistas have seen the amazing looks from Chanel's Resort 2011 collection, but I thought I'd share some of my favorites. I'm in love with the perfect prints, the perfect stripes, the perfect white shirts, the perfect short-shorts... and on, and on.
