weekend roundup: eat drink love

I get jaded about living in NYC sometimes--like, why do I pay 2 or 3 or 4 times as much rent as my friends when it's so hard to do the littlest things like grocery shopping and laundry? But then one weekend will remind me why this is the greatest place to live. I wanted to take advantage of one of the last of August, and I think I succeeded!

I had a yummy, airy meal at Northern Spy in the East Village

[our appetizer, stuffed squash]

Shopped the Reiss sale and regular price sections--thanks to the boyfriend's generous birthday gift

Grabbed a delicious sandwich at Bonsignour (I had no idea it was a celeb-hot-spot 'til now!)

Made some new friends day-drinking at The Standard Hotel beer garden, er, biergarten

Relaxed at an evening showing of Eat Pray Love

And relaxed some more at Cafe Gitane in the Jane Hotel post-Sunday-morning-chores with my favorite lunch (smoked chicken on cranberry-nut bread... yum!)

The temperature dropped over 10-degrees this weekend, too, and I suddenly found myself excited for fall--breaking out my new polka dot scarf!

What'd you guys do this weekend?

That sounds like an absolutely perfect weekend. Very jealous! I've never been to NY but have been wanting to since I learned of it's existence! I love the little snippets into your weekend! xx

I live in Boston and would trade to be in NYC if I could, every weekend I spend there makes me sad to leave! Lovely blog

what a wonderful weekend u had! absolutely love nyc. was thinking the same thing about grocery shopping the last time i was there, that i would have to limit myself to what i could carry. but the pluses to living in the manhattan totally outweigh the minor inconveniences!

You saw Eat.Pray.Love? Hmm I need to do that - if just for James Franco.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. I am loving buying things for the apartment but yes it is stressful, I just want it done... LOL! I will keep you updated on how I do. :)
